BG7A6217Brian Magloyoan is in his fourth year as St. Mary’s University’s Sports Information Asst./Marketing Coordinator.

Magloyoan (B.A.’15) is rather familiar with the university’s athletics department having been an intern his final two years as an undergraduate student. He was a commentator for over 100 live sports broadcasts, contributing writer for RattlerAthletics.com, part-time PA announcer for soccer, baseball and softball, host/project manager for the annual athletics banquet and revived the monthly web show Talkin’ Rattlers as the host and producer. During his tenure as an intern, Magloyoan covered several high profile events including three NCAA Regional Tournaments, the St. Mary’s Athletics Hall of Fame Ceremony and the 2015 Women’s College World Series.Graduation 3

In May 2015, he received his Bachelor of Arts in Speech Communications from St. Mary’s. As a student, Magloyoan was involved on campus as a contributor for The Rattler newspaper from 2011-12 and was a High School Sports Content Producer for the San Antonio Express-News in 2015.

Magloyoan continues to be an active participant within the University, including taking part in the intramural sports program, winning three championships to date (men’s flag football once, co-rec softball twice).

A New Jersey native, Magloyoan grew up in the shadows of sports crazed New York City. It was there, as a child, he developed a love for sports, playing organized basketball and earning his black belt in Tae Kwon Do. At the age of 11, Magloyoan and his family moved to Houston. A graduate of Stephen F. Austin High School, he wrote for the school’s newspaper, The Legend, and was a member of the lunchtime news broadcast, Dawg Pause 16.

He is the son of Mercedes and Melardo and is the older brother of Natalie who is also a graduate of St. Mary’s.
